  • Safety is our top priority. We have secure campus entry points, regular emergency drills, and on-site staff trained in I Love U Guys Standard Response Protocol.  In addition, SPS uses Safe2HelpNE for reporting. School counselors are available in all of our buildings.

  • The school building opens at 7:30 AM. 

  • Registration is straightforward and can be done online at SPS New Student Registration Contact building specific school counselors with any questions. Required documents include proof of residence, birth certificate, and immunization records.

  • We welcome family involvement! Parents can volunteer in classrooms, help with activity specific fundraisers, join the Booster Club, participate in family nights, or attend school events. Your involvement strengthens our school community and supports your child's learning experience.

Principal’s Message

Principal Ryan Plummer brings over 15 years of educational leadership and a passion for student success, driving excellence and innovation throughout our school.


Sidney High School is located in the beautiful Nebraska panhandle. It serves 375 students and has a total staff of just over 40. Sidney High School has high expectations for academics which leads to above average ACT scores, a high post secondary attendance rate, high graduation rate, a vast array of career exploration opportunities, and recognition in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 as one of Nebraska’s top schools. In 2019 Sidney High School was also recognized by the United States Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School for Academic Achievement. 
 

We are proud of our students and staff as they have shown tremendous resolve and leadership throughout the community, as we are continuing to grow our Work-Based Learning Areas we look to continue to partner with businesses in our beautiful community. Sidney High School has teamed with other community entities such as the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce and the City of Sidney Economic Development to demonstrate to all the meaning of togetherness and that if we commit to working together we can continue to grow our great town and school.
